Citizens of Turkey have boycotted Visa and MasterCard banking institutions after indiscriminate attacks in Gaza killed a large number of civilians, including children. On the contrary, they have now increased the use of their own transaction service Troy.

Hashtags have already been launched to build public opinion in favor of the use of Troy on social media. The hashtag is #wewanttousetroycard. Within a short time, millions of Turks used this hashtag.

According to the report of the Turkish media TRT World, customers in Turkish banks are applying every day for their local transaction card Troy instead of Visa or MasterCard. Around 1.9 million Troy cards were newly in use amid the Visa and MasterCard boycott movement.

In 2015, an organization called Interbank Card Center based in Istanbul launched this Troy card. It came to the market in April 2016. It is the only local transaction banking card in Turkey. With the help of this card, users will get debit, credit and prepaid and network processing facilities. The US recognized this card in 2017.
